Biafra Group Appoints Reverend Father As Electoral Chairman.


The Biafra Independence Movement (BIM) has stepped up its plan to formalise operation by appointing a catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Aniebonam as the chairman of Biafra Independent National Electoral Commission (B-INEC), Vanguard reports.
This appointment was announced by Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, the leader of BIM.

Uwazuruike was the founder of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and was also the leader of the Biafra group before he was ousted due to internal crises and accused of disloyalty. This led to the formation of BIM.
Uwazuruike who made this announcement at Ojukwu memorial library, Owerri in Imo state explained that the new development was in tune with BIM’s effort to establish an independent Biafra state without using violence.
Chris Mocha, Uwazuruike who was newly appointed as Biafra director of information explained that Fr. Aniebonam and his team of officials of B-INEC would conduct and supervise the internal election in all the offices of BIM on Monday, February 22.
BIM is one of the saparatist groups agitating for an independent Biafra state away from Nigeria. Some of the other suister groups are the aforementioned MASSOB and Indegenous People of Biafra
